Join us for this special taco Tuesday on November 4th!

 

We're excited to join author Arnold Myint and The Book Larder for a special dinner celebrating Arnold's new cookbook, Family Thai: Bringing the Flavors of Thailand Home! Each ticket comes with a signed copy of Family Thai, and a four-course meal curated by the chefs of Hatch Cantina, inspired by recipes from the book along with Hatch's food of the American Southwest. We'll see you there!

Menu includes:

  • "Scallop" Crudo
  • Elote with red curry butter
  • Bacon krapao taco- a traditional Thai holy basil dish meets the Southwest
  • Khanom Ruam Mitt- chilled fruit cocktail in coconut soup

 

About the book: In Family Thai, Arnold breaks down an often-intimidating cuisine into accessible building blocks for every home cook, beginning with pantry staples—what’s fish sauce? what are the differences between soy sauces?—and moves on to teaching readers skills like how to steam the perfect sticky rice or how to make their own noodles.

Arnold also shares what he likes to cook at home and adaptations of Thai cuisine that have been inspired by his hometown of Nashville and his travels around the world. From there, he takes us into the vibrant and colorful world of Thai street food—including shumai, shrimp toast, curry puffs, and more—classic noodle dishes, his own original creations, and, of course, his mother’s classic recipes.

Arnold Myint is a James Beard Award–nominated chef, recipe developer, TV personality, cooking content creator, Thai food enthusiast, former competitive figure skater, mixologist, and much more. Myint competed on season 7 of Top Chef, as well as season 11 of Food Network Star. He has cooked in New York and Los Angeles and studied at the Institute of Culinary Education. His real training began during his childhood at International Market & Restaurant, his parents’ Thai restaurant that opened in 1975 and remains a mainstay of Nashville’s culinary scene under his leadership. He lives in Nashville.

Welcome to Hatch Cantina, where we bring you the best of the Southwest right here in Belltown, Seattle.

Our chef Phil has a passion for cooking that comes from his grandma Babz, who taught him everything he knows. The green chile stew we serve is her secret recipe, passed down for over 40 years. She still uses this spicy stew to barter for things she needs in her hometown of Durango, CO. Don’t believe us? Just ask chef how she got her heat fixed this winter.

Her love for cooking is what makes this chili so amazing, along with heaps of Hatch chilies.

If you’re from the Southwest, you know that Hatch chilies are the real deal. That’s why we named our restaurant after them, because we know quality when we taste it.

We’re here to celebrate Southwestern food inspired by Grandma Babz.
